Apply as an International Student

The Central Institute of Technology and Innovation welcomes international students from around the world. Our dedicated team is here to support you at every stage of your journey—from application to arrival in Australia, and then throughout your entire time with us.

Here is how to apply as an international student:

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Begin your application by completing the International Student Application available here:

Please ensure that all information provided is accurate and complete.

Step 2: Upload Your Supporting Documents

Applicants are required to provide certified copies of the following documents:

  • Academic transcripts and certificates of completion
  • English language proficiency test results (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic)
  • Passport bio-data page
  • Any additional documentation required for specific courses or programs

All documents must be in English or accompanied by a certified English translation.

Step 3: Application Review and Letter of Offer

The Admissions Team will assess your application to confirm that you meet the academic and English language entry requirements.

If your application is successful, you will receive a Letter of Offer, outlining your course details, tuition fees, and any applicable conditions.

Step 4: Accept Your Offer

To confirm your place at the Central Institute:

  • Review and sign your Written Agreement
  • Pay the tuition deposit as outlined in your offer

Upon receipt of your acceptance, we will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), which is required to apply for your student visa.

Step 5: Apply for Your Student Visa

Apply for a Student Visa (subclass 500) through the Department of Home Affairs.

You will be required to demonstrate that you are a Genuine Student, and you will need to provide:

  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
  • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Statement explaining your study intentions in Australia
  • Financial Capacity Evidence demonstrating access to sufficient funds to cover tuition, living costs, and travel (currently, the minimum required is AUD $29,710 per year for living expenses)
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), which is mandatory for the duration of your stay
  • English language proficiency evidence

Visa Reminder: Processing times may vary. It is advisable to apply well in advance to allow time for visa processing and travel planning.

Step 6: Prepare for Your Arrival

Once your visa has been granted, you may begin planning for your arrival in Sydney.

  • Arrange your accommodation (homestay, student apartments, or shared housing options near the Central Business District are available)
  • Confirm your orientation and course start dates
  • Familiarise yourself with visa conditions, including maintaining full-time enrolment, achieving satisfactory academic progress, and adhering to work limitations
