Technology and Resources
Students are provided with access to modern facilities and cutting-edge resources during their time at the Central Institute, and you will be guided by your lecturers regarding the programs, tools, and apps to be used in each unit.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
To make the most of your learning experience, you will need to bring your own device that meets the following basic tech requirements:
- Operating System: Windows, Mac, or Linux
- Software: Microsoft 365 (online), Adobe Reader, and antivirus software (e.g. Avast or Norton)
- Additional Tools: Chrome, LibreOffice, Anaconda (includes Python), Matlab, Draw.io, LyX / LaTeX, OneDrive / Google Drive, Xmind, and Zotero
- Other Software: Students are free to install any software that does not contain malware or could damage the network and should always speak to their lecturer if they are in doubt.
