English Language and Academic Support
The Central Institute of Technology and Innovation is committed to supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds to succeed in their studies. The Institute provides a range of structured and accessible English language and academic support services designed to build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and support academic progression throughout your course.
Embedded Support in Innovation Hubs
English language and academic skills support is embedded within the Innovation Hubs, allowing students to access guidance in a practical, discipline-focused environment. This integrated approach supports the development of academic writing, research, communication, and professional skills in direct connection with course learning activities.
Targeted Workshops Throughout the Semester
The Institute offers targeted English language and academic skills workshops across each teaching period. These workshops focus on key areas such as:
- Academic writing and referencing
- Assessment preparation and structure
- Research and critical analysis
- Presentation and communication skills
Workshops are scheduled throughout the semester to provide timely support aligned with assessment milestones. Our Academic Workshop calendar is available on our LMS.
One-to-One Consultations
Students may book individual consultations for personalised support with English language development and academic skills. Appointments are available throughout the semester and can be booked directly via the LMS, or with the Director of Learning and Teaching on campus.
